How Mayfain keeps you safe
Plain English, for people and for the institutions they deal with.

Your details are encrypted with a key unique to you
Every person's details are encrypted with their own key before they are stored. The keys are held by Mayfain, and every use of them is recorded.
The AI that talks to you and acts for you never sees your details
It works with placeholders. A separate part of Mayfain, outside the AI, fills in the real value at the moment you approve a send, and only for that institution.
Nothing is sent without your approval, and you see exactly what's sent
Before anything goes to an institution, the app shows you exactly what will be sent, with your own words marked as yours. The AI cannot send anything on its own, and a fixed set of rules checks every request.
We never store your payslips or your PPS number
Payslips are checked in memory and deleted straight away. Before our AI provider reads the earnings lines, we remove your PPS number, employee number, bank details, tax credits and deduction labels.
Institutions see what's been checked first, and your documents only when you approve
When you apply, an agency sees your contact details, what was checked and your message. References and documents are released only at later stages, and only when you approve.
Every time your data is used, it's in your activity log
Views by an agency, checks of your certificate, and any access by the Mayfain team appear in plain sentences in your activity log.
Your data is stored in the EU
Your details and documents are stored in Ireland. Our AI provider processes some text outside the EU, under contract: your chat messages and the masked earnings lines of your payslips, never your sealed details. The sub-processors page lists every provider.
What we check, and what we don't
- Identity
- Checked by Didit, our identity-check provider, including a face match that needs your explicit consent. We never store your nationality or your document number.
- Income and employment
- Checked from your payslips against your Revenue Pay and Tax Summary, in memory. The result is shown as an affordability band, not your salary.
- References
- Not checked by Mayfain. They are always labelled Proof attached, with the referee's contact details.
- Never collected
- Your PPS number, your nationality, or anything about the grounds protected by the Equal Status Acts.
